You don't really believe that do you?

I have long thought the Left calling us anti-intellectual is ridiculous, and I think this proves it. Over on Michelle Malkin's blog she posted the following letter to the editor from the Rocky Mountain News:
'A bad case of fleas'

The act of war deliberately and thoughtlessly wounds, poisons and handicaps the life-sustaining womb of all mankind. The Earth reacts, as any living thing would, when attacked. Earthquake, tsunami, flood, tornado, hurricane, mudslide, and resulting loss of life may be the natural emotional response.

We must behave responsibly and live peacefully or we may all be "shaken" off like a bad case of fleas.

Millie Mitchell

Wow, now the Earth has "natural emotional response[s]"? This is an example of environmentalism gone too far. The suggestion that the Earth is reacting to war by earthquake is ludicrous. What a moron.

  • It's called "ANTHROPOMORPHIZING." Little children do it all the time when they say, play with three rocks called the mommy rock, the daddy rock and the baby rock. It looks like some adults are still stuck doing that.

  • Not to mention that the reference of being shaken off "like a bad case of fleas" is a line from a George Carlin routine. (It's about 2/3 the way down the page.)

  • I have had the pleasure of dealing with this woman, Millie Mitchell. Let me tell you, she is a flea that needs to be shaken from this earth. Nobody deserves the heap of anger she can unload on someone. I pity her.
