The democratic spirit in Iraq

OxBlog has a great quote from an Iraqi concerning the elections and terrorist actions designed to delay or stop them.
"I swear to God, even if they burn all the elections centers, we will still go and vote," said Ali Waili, a 29-year-old taxi driver .
This is the spirit of freedom, and as Natan Sharansky would tell us, the election is not the sign that democracy has arrived in Iraq, it shows that a democratic society's formation has begun. Let's support it and pray it takes hold in that troubled region.
